1. Place the stand at its designated spot. Adjust its level so that there will be enough clearance for the electrical equipment and connections.
2. Using a soft cloth or a sponge, clean the tank inside and out.
3. You have can either put a vinyl aquarium background cover on or paint the back of the tank to achieve the background theme that you are aiming for.
4. Put the tank on the stand, and make sure that the cushion underneath, if there is one, is in place. You can now begin installing all the other pieces of equipment.
5. Test the system by filling the tank with freshwater, and turning all the equipment on. Leave it running for an entire day.
6. Look out for leaks, adjust the temperature, and add more sea salt if desired salinity level is not yet reached.
7. Some hobbyists prefer the use of live rock to the aquascaping the tank method. Either way is fine. Do some research so that you can make up your mind on which option to use.
8. Leave the tank to cycle. This usually takes about 30 days, but techniques to speed up the process can also be applied.
9. Once the cycling process is complete, livestock can now be added to your marine fish tank!
